The Rudi Jahnke company
Rudi
Jahnke first laid the foundation of the Rudi Jahnke Süsswaren
company in Altona. Even today, traditional sweets such as
May leaves, raspberry sweets, licorice cross squares, cachou
and salmiak drops as well as tasty chocolate salmiak lollipops
and chocolate salmiak-lumps originated from Rudi Jahnke's
"kitchen". His wife Anna and his son Heinz Peter
were his untiring helpers during the then very laborious production
of sweets.
History
The company founder, Rudi Jahnke began his apprenticeship
as a "sweets cook" in his hometown of Stettin during
the 1930s. He moved to Schleswig-Holstein in 1949 and gained
experience in various different companies. At the end of the
1970s, Rudi Jahnke founded his own "sweets factory"
in Hamburg-Altona.
His son, Heinz Jahnke has been running the family business
for more than 25 years. In 1989, the steadily growing company
moved to Kaltenkirchen where Jahnke Süsswaren e. K. still
has its headquarters today.

The
tasty sweets continue to be produced according to traditional
recipes. However, conditions are now much different than they
were during the early days of the company.
Today, our IFS (International Food Standard) certified company
is equipped with the most modern production and packing systems.
This makes it possible for us to produce economically and
efficiently.

A continual improvement in the quality of our products is
just as important to us as the development of new products.
The products
Our
products are produced according to the highest standards.
The intense flavour that you experience is achieved by using
ingredients and aromas of the highest quality. The success
of our products is confirmed by the praise we receive daily
from our customers.
As a result of long years of experience and expertise in
the field of licorice specialities, we have rounded off our
wide range of products with "Salmiak-Salt Licorice
Sweets" and "Traditional" Licorice.
In
addition, fruit sweets, in particular our newly developed
two-in-one flavoured Euka-Limette and Euka-Cranberry,
highlight our highly individual assortment range.
Our confectionary series also continues to increase
in popularity. New ideas and products have shown that our
presence is indispensable even in the self-service sector.
However, supplying to self-service stores is not the only
thing that is important to us. There's hardly a fairground
in the whole of northern Germany where you won't find our
products. A wide range of bulk market goods is available for
retailers.
Corporate responsibility
At
Rudi Jahnke Süsswaren e. K., flexibility doesn't just
mean product development and production.
We consider it to be very important to not only train and
encourage our own "junior staff" in the sophisticated
development and production techniques and wholesale and export
trade, but also to give them a job afterwards.
